If you've driven across Saskatoon this summer, you've probably encountered construction.
With a higher than average number of projects underway, many on Saskatoon's busiest roads, getting around the city has looked a little different this year. We know the detours, lane restrictions and delays have been frustrating, and we appreciate the patience residents have shown.
Our construction season is short, and every summer crews work to make the most of it. This year, that means investing in roads, bridges, water mains and underground utilities that will serve our community for decades to come.
There has already been significant progress. The Acadia Primary Water Main Project is complete, improving the reliability of the City's water system for the pressure zone that supplies approximately 16 per cent of Saskatoon's water. Crews have also completed several major overnight road rehabilitation projects, improving busy roadways while reducing impacts on daytime traffic.
Work continues on other major projects across the city, including downtown water main rehabilitation, sanitary sewer upgrades in Nutana and the Biosolids Pipeline Corridor Project. Each one is an investment in the infrastructure that keeps Saskatoon moving and supports our growing community.
Throughout the rest of the summer, we'll continue sharing updates on our social media channels on these projects, highlighting the progress being made, the milestones being reached and the benefits they'll bring to residents long after construction is complete.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as crews work to complete this important infrastructure work during our short construction season.
